Who We Are

Nick Samuel

Nick Samuel

Creative Director / Composer

Nick Samuel is an award-winning film and TV composer. Through his composition, he explores music's relationship with narrative and emotion; always seeking to deepen the bond between film and audience.

He began his career as a saxophonist and keyboard player; working internationally across stage and studio within a multitude of genres before forming the group 'Hopper' as songwriter and bandleader. From their genre-defying performances, they went on to receive a finalist accolade for 'Best Alternative Act' at the Indy Awards in 2007.

Within the realms of film, TV, and advertising, Nick’s broad experience of live music and improvisation markedly influenced his approach to musically communicating, and creating an empathy, with audiences. His work in advertising won him the 2013 Music + Sound Award for 'Best Composition in Cinema Advertising' for the come-back ad campaign of British cinema giants Pearl & Dean. Other clients in TV and advertising include: Coke Zero, ITV, Tesco, RAF Benevolent Fund, and Against Breast Cancer (for DCM).

Nick’s work in film include the highly-acclaimed HBO film Unmasking Jihadi John: Anatomy Of A Terrorist, Max Payne: Retribution, Knights Of The Damned, and the upcoming Arthur And Merlin: Knights Of Camelot.

Nick was born in California, and he lives and works in London.

Rachel Parker

Rachel Samuel

Creative Director / Post-Production Lead

Rachel’s beginnings as a journalist fuelled her investigative and exploratory approach to life, working for various Fairfax and APN titles in New Zealand. Her experiential and hands-on approach to her work led her to discover SCUBA diving; subsequently adopting it as a profession and founding an online community for thousands of divers. This led to a number of marine conservation-related projects, seminars, expeditions and writing commissions.

Diving deeper with her interests in the environment and natural world, she became an advocate for its preservation before taking leading roles in media and communications in the small charity sector in the UK. Rachel has instigated and collaborated on projects pivotal to the progress of human rights and worked in in remote rainforest locations. Taking an active and immersive role in these projects, she produced animations and films on location on shoestring budgets and to tight timelines.

Calling on her rich and varied experiences storytelling over the years, Rachel heads up the production and creative sides of Make Some Noise.
